1 WEEK LEFT! (9.9.13 Weekly Update)

Hello, IYSFF Family!

If  you did not know, we're coming down the line for Australian Submissions! They're due in exactly 1 week from this day, 9/2/13! 

On that note, happy September to our fellow filmmakers and everyone new and old to the family. 

We hope that your month of August was eventful, and if not, make September the eventful month! 

Start by turning in those submissions by the 9th and you'll already be on a hot streak! ;)

With this being the beginning of the week blog post, we're here to encourage you to speak with fellow filmmakers and peers on the Facebook page and also communicate through twitter as well! (Both links down below). 

At the end of this month, we're announcing a new contest that all filmmakers will have access to!
Almost exactly like the previous Youtube contest, this one will be promoting the festival directly! 

If you have any questions at all regarding the festival, submissions, general inquiries, be sure to check out the website! If you want a direct immediate answer, we, the social media team, can assist to the  best of our abilities at almost all hours of the day!

2 WEEKS UNTIL DEADLINE!

We're coming down the line for Australian Filmmakers to submit their films to the Festival.
September 9th, 2013! Don't forget!

Teachers, keep reminding your students to submit and find new ways to innovate their work! The more submissions the better.

Students and filmmakers: Keep working! A little less than 2 weeks to go until the deadline. We hope you're working hard and that you're excited to see what the Festival is all about. We're excited to visit and put it on for you.

END Of Youtube Advertising Contest!

Today marks the end of the Youtube Advertising contest!

If you have something that you've created and wish to submit, send it to IYSFFOfficial@gmail.com!
Also post it on the Facebook page at: Facebook.com/IYSFF

It's been a great contest! A few people submitted, and we're going to have to get the advertisements running ASAP, so the judgement will be taken place within the next few days.

If there are ANY videos that come in late, it's not a problem! We'll be sharing everything and anything that young filmmakers have created to help promote the festival in October. Aiming towards creating awareness towards the Submission date of ALL films for the festival on September 9th!


More contests will be happening throughout the month and approaching the Festival, so keep your eyes peeled on the Facebook page. :)


As for this contest, it was a great tester and it will be amazing to see everyone's submissions and creative marketing skills. We hope you had fun and that there are many more advertisements that are coming!

I.Y.S.F.F. Youtube Advertising Contest!

ATTENTION LADY AND GENTLEMAN FILMMAKERS OF THE IYSFF FAMILY (and soon to-be members of the IYSFF family):

Today is the beginning of the Youtube contest!
What does this mean? It means create an Ad for the International Youth Silent Film Festival, of course!

But there's more... It has to be specifically promoting the soon-to-be Australian Film Festival in October!
What you win? Your advertisement will be played all over Youtube in Australia!

Because we want this to be a community engagement activity and get everyone possible involved:

We want you to have fun, most importantly. Throw in all your creative titles, stories, effects, acting, etc.! It'll be a BLAST to see what kind of creations you will all produce.

How this will work:
Winner will be determined by the MOST COMMENTS and SHARES on the Facebook page, and then selected by IYSFF Officials. We will share every video created on the facebook page, twitter, and instagram, telling people to go watch.
The more advertisements the better!

GUIDELINES AND DATES:Begins: 7/15 Ends: 8/5

Your advertisement goes live on the 8th of August, all over YouTube in Australia!

Contest Rules:

- 30 Seconds in length

- Must have Australia Submission Date Written in Titles (Sept. 9, 2013)

- Australia Festival Locations in Titles
 (Adelaide, Capri Theater & Kingston City Hall Moorabbin, Australia)

- Have the IYSFF logo at the end

- Non-Violent

- Mention that it’s the International Youth Silent Film Festival

- Any age up to age 20

- More importantly, Have fun! Get creative!

Tonight is...The Creative Youth Awards Ceremony!

Hello, IYSFF followers!

Tonight is the night. What night you might ask? The Creative Youth Awards Ceremony, of course! 

We're trying to grab as many peoples' attention as possible, so be sure to let your friends in on the little secret that, yes, the awards are happening tonight!
They're sure to be incredible and a total blast for filmmakers and fans of films alike. 

Before the Awards (Which are at 7:00 PM at the Hollywood Theater, in Portland, OR) there is a filmmakers hangout! If you don't know what that is, it's a gathering of all the greatest minds, obviously! You, the filmmaker, will be able to participate in a pre-party type event where you, AND ONLY YOU, will have access to the celebrity jurors who had once seen and graded your film.

The celebrity jurors that you were surprised to hear were on the panel! The same celebrity jurors that you perhaps have wanted to meet for quite some time! Now's your chance. It's tonight. 

The filmmakers get-together takes place at 5:00 PM, in the Chameleon Lounge, only a block away from the Hollywood theater.
THIS IS ONLY AVAILABLE TO THOSE WHO SUBMITTED FILMS THIS YEAR TO THE IYSFF...OR IN YEARS' PAST. 

It's a gift for putting effort into your films and sticking with the IYSFF family. To get to know one another, have fun, ask the Jurors questions and talk about anything film related!  

For those of you really into social media, and use it on a daily basis, we're going to be updating everything we're on....ALL DAY AND NIGHT! 

PRO-TIP: When using your phone, find us on Instagram, and whenever you take any pictures, hashtag them with the hashtag, #IYSFF or #CYA. It'll be an easy find!
